Joseph Morse

I began this site in the fall of 2002. The thesis is that if Subliminal Distraction is a major stressor for mental illness evidence exists. It would be everywhere in plain sight and  working right under everyone's nose.

There is an ongoing problem of college student suicides. Some exhibit mental health symptoms but there is another group that do not have those symptoms. They appear normal to friends and family and suddenly disappear or commit suicide with  no warning.

One of the first college disappearances I found was Joe Morse from Ga Tech. He vanished one morning while other students were packing to go home. His disappearance was so sudden that one account said he left a wet towel in the shower.

His picture taken by an ATM camera was on the FBI missing persons site for four years. He had withdrawn his last $120 and vanished.

The  Ga Tech campus police eventually traced him to a suicide in Miami Florida. He had flown to Miami Florida, broken into a construction site, climbed a crane and jumped. He died the day after he left Ga Tech.

I eventually wrote Ga Tech but was shunted off to someone dealing with disability access. With no information about his living and study arrangements I had nothing to work with and  finally gave  up. Recently I received an email from his roommate giving me a sketch of the dorm room and the furniture he used.

From that information it is evident Morse was a Subliminal Distraction victim.

Overhead View Dorm Room

This view shows that Joe had located his chair where his peripheral vision was exposed to movement in the room as well as movement by the door to the room.

Joe's computer allowed exposure.

Joe's computer was on the desk rather than correctly located below the work surface. It had a bright blinking light that would have tricked his mind by producing stimulus in peripheral vision every time he turned his head.

Roommate Computer Workstation

His roommate located his  computer workstation under the bunk bed. The computer is correctly located below the work surface.

Finnish National Police crime photo.

The other defective computer workstation I located is from the Finnish National Police. Peka Erik-Auvinen located it beside a closet door mirror. He could subliminally detect his own movement as a reflection while he surfed the Internet. He planned, purchased a gun, then killed eight before committing suicide.

What is the difference between exposure victims that vanish and those that react with violence. I don't know! But my guess is that the personality of the individual is the difference. If someone is involved in a dispute the  subliminal stimulation of their subconscious acts to reinforce that dispute with the fear, and paranoia Subliminal Distraction exposure can be shown to cause.

Violence and mass murder seem to be cases of Subliminal Distraction meets sociopath.

If you have not done so visit the College Suicides page. Some of these cases are absolutely bizarre. Those few cases demonstrate that a mental event precipitated the suicide.

Since we can show Subliminal Distraction can cause a variety of psychiatric symptoms even those suicides blamed on mental health problems may be caused by Subliminal Distraction exposure.

One of the first symptoms my wife had was hearing voices and intense fear. Personal Experiences She concocted delusional reasons to  go somewhere. She said a trial was being held about mistakes she made in her accounting job at the University of Alabama. I had to hide keys then disable cars to prevent her driving away while I slept.

Information about this phenomenon is extremely limited. I recently visited the Auburn University library in Montgomery. In three aisled of books on psychology I found only one entry about subliminal perception and none on Subliminal Distraction.

When I posted a question on an architecture site I was accused of being an attorney trying to get information for a suit.

Because of the subliminal way your brain works to detect movement in peripheral vision exposure is undetectable. Short explanation
