This site is about a conflict of human physiology that shaped history but was undetected  until the 1960's.

In the entire history of man on the planet Earth this phenomenon was discovered only once.

It caused mental breaks for office workers.

 

You will find this material hard to believe.

Introduction:

Subliminal Peripheral Vision Psychosis cannot be diagnosed from news reports . Only a quick inspection of the living and working sites immediately after a disappearance to detect risk elements for SPVP would test the possibility that it is involved in any disappearance.

Most law enforcement agencies have never heard of  this problem.  The first recourse when someone disappears is acquaintance involvement, murder. A body is usually found to confirm this. In cases of ‘mysterious disappearance’ the person is just gone. Valuable possessions and personal identity items are sometimes found or cars abandoned. It would seem that the person just walked away in the middle of some activity leaving everything.  Police search hard drives for email contacts or communication with someone who might be responsible for the disappearance. They do not searched the documents file for a long paper or project.

Programs such as Word ™, WordPerfect™ can be programmed to save work as the subject writes a paper. When dial up connections are used to play on-line games or download large picture files the hard drive busy light will constantly blink. If the computer is critically miss-positioned so that the hard drive busy light is in Subliminal Peripheral Vision the constantly blinking light can be perceived  as threat  movement. The stimulus must be repeating and detectable. (Since the initial writing of this page computer manufacturers have removed the bright blinking lights. This should help lower the incidents of college student disappearances. Remember that this phenomenon was discovered before desk top computers existed. Computers are not the only source of apparent threat movement for a concentrating student or small business office worker. See 'Dykstra Hall' Missing Students

It is not possible to detect the subliminal action of your peripheral vision reflexes after you ignore the perceived threat movement. You would begin to experience the effect of the repeating subliminal stimulus. Based on what happened to my wife you would begin to feel watched. This is a form of operant conditioning. Specifically it is subliminal-random-adverse-stimulation of consciousness. As the process continues your conscious mind attempts to reconcile the subliminal stimulation with your activity. New information on the Chaco Canyon page shows that others have made the connection to possible operant conditioning involving Jumping Disease, Jumping Frenchmen of Maine Disease. They were unaware of the conflict of physiology and that there is a source of Accidental Operant Conditioning.

The basic common subliminal signal to consciousness is perceived as a warning that something is behind you. Each person experiences this differently.  Over time, the subject becomes paranoid and possibly attaches hostility toward something or someone with whom there is a current dispute. The personality traits of each person would determine if they react with either withdrawal, or hostility and aggression. This is because Accidental Operant Conditioning acts against the person's belief system, worries, and contemporaneous activities raising them to psychotic levels. This can be used to explain a connection to the Anxiety Disorder Complex. Comments that Anorexia symptoms worsen when Qi Gong is used also make that connection, Qi Gong psychotic reaction page. Your contemporaneous activity can change perception of the co-generated emotion content occurring with the failed reflex. For example, if you were raking cut grass and detected movement to cause a peripheral vision reflex you would react mildly. You would turn and look. Take that same movement in the same yard and add that you saw a rattle snake earlier and you might jump several feet. If you begin with the theory that the signal to cause a peripheral vision reflex has no meaning or sense then the Co-generated emotional content is a product of your contemporaneous activity and mental state at the time the reflex occurs. The perception change can be very subtle. The subject’s cultural values and concept of reality would also shape it. The suicide of Shawn Woolley demonstrates the extreme possibility for this problem.

It is theoretically possible the phenomena could explain Culture Bound Syndromes such as  'going postal', 'road rage', and other sudden unexplained violent acts, Chaco Canyon page.  When the stimulus occurs to someone in a stressful situation or who is in an ongoing dispute, the stimulus adds to the perception of persecution or oppression in that situation. The meaning of the stimulation is shaped by the individual's mental state while involved in that dispute. As the stimulation continues for weeks the level of stress increases. The subject is unaware the stimulation exists. At some point the effected person acts out in that delusion, altered mental state. An argument or even an attack may happen. Viewed from the attack victim's  point of view the reaction and violence of the act is out of all proportion relative to the true facts of the incident. There have been many cases in which the perpetrator, when interviewed, cannot remember why they acted as they did. The authorities, public, and media view this answer as an excuse created after the fact. Temporary Insanity would become a valid defense if risk behavior for SPVP can be discovered and proved. When SPVP is included in the evaluation it explains why the perpetrators do not know why they suddenly blew up. This would not explain every instance. Mental problems brought on by disease, cancer, stroke, drug use or inherited personality traits still exist. It would explain the statistical rise in the frequency of these events since the invention of the computer starting about 1980. Often the offender is killed or commits suicide so there is no way to examine the months leading up to the violent event. In the case of Captain Button (See example 3 below.) every thing is gone except the memories of those who knew him. (A search for original sources for statistics is now underway.)

When this results in a crime,  the person is arrested and removed, their former living space is altered and there would be no record of how they might have been stimulated subliminally. They certainly would not know to tell someone what had happened to them.

If the degree of stimulation or length of exposure is serious but not enough to cause a full mental break mild episodes may occur. Inability to concentrate, study or panic attacks may occur. For instance, there are posts on forums in which a panic attack happens while working on the computer. Another post related having odd vision symptoms after reading a book in a favorite reading location. There are stories on the Internet of people who were cured of panic attack symptoms after moving. Happy to be rid of the symptoms, the person is unaware of what may have happened.

It is not possible to communicate with the part of your brain that receives signals from subliminal peripheral vision. You cannot turn off this detection system. This detection and instantaneous evaluation of stimulus  takes place at a level below thought, reason, and consciousness. This is easily explained as having been developed as part of the evolutionary process. If early man had been able to think about the signal from peripheral vision and thoughtfully evaluate it before deciding to react, he would have been a meal for something bigger than him and which had much sharper teeth.

 

 

At this point I hope I have scared you, really scared you. What I am proposing is that a previously unevaluated stressor has escaped the notice of the mental health community for fifty years. It is a part of the physiology of every human on the face of the earth. It has existed since man came down from the trees. It is a retained evolutionarily developed warning system. All that is required to be in the at-risk population is that you possess the ability to create peripheral vision reflexes. What is even more astounding is that everything you learned about psychology, psychiatry, and psychoanalysis was created without the knowledge that this problem existed. The facts of human physiology involved are taught in first semester psychology. In a very good psychology course you would have learned that the ability to see subliminally through peripheral vision was a problem in the early days of modern office design. That is what my instructor said at the end of the lecture on Psychophysics.

Dissociative Fugue:

 

Dissociative Fugue is discussed on many sites. It is a diagnosis listed in the DSM. ( The Diagnostic Statistical Manual Revised of the American Psychiatric Association is available by searching terms on the APA site. Old versions, abridged earlier revisions, are available on line. Dissociative Fugue is not listed in the abridged versions.)

The definition of Dissociative Fugue is that the effected person suddenly without warning leaves family, friends, work, and their current life and is discovered years later in a new location with a new life, career, and/or family with no memory of the previous life. Sites state that long term amnesia is a rare condition. Remember that these diagnosis standards depend on the persons who are found. No one knows how many have not been found.

Stress is given as the reason for these acts. The cause of the stress is unknown. (This site argues that SPVP, in some form,  is that unknown stressor.)

Background Story:

Due to the injury of a family member I had the opportunity to observe SPVP first hand. I noted a core path to the early psychotic delusions. There was the repeating theme of urgently going somewhere for a delusional, psychotic purpose. Five or ten times each hour this person came to me insisting they had to go. They asked for the car keys constantly. I finally disabled both cars in the event the keys were found while I was asleep. As the days passed the reason for going changed but the core thought that there was an emergency reason requiring them to go stayed.

There were sleep disturbances involving waking at 11:30 PM and 3:30 AM. The voices heard on waking commanded, "Get up and come." The family member heard their name called and this voice seemed to be the reason for waking.

It suddenly occurred to me one day that something about this rang a bell. I had heard this or seen this before. It just kept nagging at me.

I finally remembered stories of bizarre disappearances. These had an odd similarity. The people who disappeared or who were found dead had suddenly traveled great distances before meeting their fate at the end of a trip. This sudden travel was reported to be out of character by friends and family when they were interviewed. Some times they could be shown to have done odd things during or at the end of the trip.

I realized that the events were reported by different news reporters in far distant locations and separated by years in time. No one else had noticed what I had.

Ron Tammen  Miami University, Ohio, April 9, 1953

 

Ron Tammen was seen by the hall manager about eight o'clock when he exchanged sheets for his bed. By ten o'clock when his roommate returned he was gone. His psychology book was left open on the study desk. and the radio was still on.  Later, when authorities began to look for him they found he had approached a house in a confused state, unable to remember his name,  and asked for directions. He was wearing a light blanket jacket. It was too thin for the cold that night. He used his car earlier in the day when he played string base with the dance band. The keys were left on the table.

This is a case where the psychology department got it right. They diagnosed it to be a case of "Amnesia." The reason they knew what had happened is that there were other students there who had disappeared, recovered, and returned. Those students wrote letters  to Tammen's family believing that he too would return.

He is still missing and it has been over fifty years.

March 2008: Bones from a body originally found in July 1953 in north Georgia are being DNA tested to determine if the body was Ron Tammen.

Why is this case significant?

Tammen's position as residence manager speaks to the University's evaluation of his abilities. There is no history of mental problems. There was some source of exposure on the campus because other students had dissociative events. A likely source would have been the small two person dorm rooms with an unprotected study desk. The room pictured in the adobe file seems too small to have been Tammen's room but other articles on-line actually give the room number.

Nothing we find on-line will be perfect proof. Even today experts and college administrations are searching for the cause of sudden unexplained suicides and student disappearances. Because police and news reporters are unaware of the phenomenon it is random chance, accident, that they observe and report information to reveal the cause of a disappearance or suicide. The adobe files linked below are pictures of newspaper clippings  from the period. Some are of poor quality but the desk and room are shown in separate photos. While not perfect this is almost the smoking gun to establish the phenomenon is causing student disappearances.

The description of the mental event is Dissociative Fugue but they called it a case of Amnesia.

Tara Grant

Stephen Grant reported his wife missing five days after he last saw her. She was an operations manager for Washington Group International and made frequent out of country trips. Emails given to the sheriff's office by a woman who claimed to be a former girlfriend, tell that Grant suspected his wife of having an affair. Grant held the home computer saying it has privileged attorney client communications. He did give police two laptops Tara used.

Stephen said Tara cut short a weekend visit. She was reported last seen walking down the drive with her luggage and laptop computer. She got into a sedan and left.

Tara's mother was contacted by Stephen attempting to find Tara. She asked him to wait to call police until an email could be sent. She now regrets asking him to wait.

Psychics were consulted and saw her either in a wooded area, in Florida, or on "Wheel of Fortune."

Three weeks later her remains were found including evidence, body parts, in the family garage. He has confessed to strangling her then dismembering her body and distributing the parts.

Adam Arthur Hecht

The Beverly Hills Police Department case file is still open on Adam Hecht. He drove away from his residence in a rented car. His own car was being repaired. Two weeks later that rental was found abandoned with Hecht's possessions, wallet, credit cards driver's license, and $600 in cash and checks were inside. A high school graduate he gave tennis lessons to earn money.

Jan 10, 1989 Adam and his brother, Harold, encountered a street person on the way to breakfast. His brother noted that Adam left the booth and talked to the street person .He stopped again when they were leaving the restaurant to speak to the same person. Later "Tony" moved into Hecht's apartment. Together they began to work within the homeless society.

Harold did not hear from Adam and went to find him at his apartment. Tony had taken up residence there. The family had Tony evicted. Although questioned Tony appeared to have no information on the disappearnce.

Jennifer Kesse

Jennifer talked to her boyfriend Monday night at 10pm. Entries on the family site forum say she would have called him at night and again the next morning. There was no phone call the morning she disappeared. Her work clothes had been put out for the next day. The house was locked with no sign of a struggle. Her car has been found at a condominium one mile away.

She had moved into the condo just two days before. She had been to St. Croix for a weekend with her boyfriend. There had been an incident of someone attempting to put a key in her new condo door according to her boss at Westgate Resorts

Police have evaluated a picture of someone walking behind a mental gate as 5'3" to 5'5" height. The missing person's poster lists her as 5'8"They have said that Jennifer did not drive her car to Huntington on the Green. Investigators noticed that their uniforms appeared light when viewed on that camera. That means the hair may not be true color. One of the pictures of Jennifer shows her with short dark hair.

Note that the time stamp on the photos are one hour later than the time they were taken.

Writers on the Court TV forum are reporting that a dog tracked her scent back to the apartment from the parked car. But news accounts and her parents say that she did not drive the car to the remote parking spot.

What did she do at Westgate Resorts and did she have Cubicle Level Protection?

Remember it is not possible to tell if a case is a murder, abduction, or Dissociative Fugue  from early information available in news stories.

Sue Ann Ray

An employee of a trucking company, Sue Ann disappeared August 28, 2005 after taking her car to her estranged husband for repairs. She was to pick up her daughter later that afternoon but never showed up. Her car was found backed into a space at the WalMart. Relatives said she could not back the car and the interior had been cleaned. Speculation is that the car was backed into the space to hide the license plate.

An interesting fact is that she had disappeared before and been gone five days. There is a dispute as to whether her relatives knew where she was during that earlier disappearance.

Question: Did the current family problems start when she changed jobs and began working at the trucking company?

 

Body Found

"Acting on a tip from an undercover informant, police in Cherokee County found the body at daybreak Wednesday of a woman missing since last August. Sueann Ray's estranged husband, Quinton Ray, has since been taken into custody by GBI agents and charged with her murder."

Scarface Disappearace.

Tammy Leppert  Rockledge, Florida, 1983

A young actress returned from a party a changed person. She claimed to have seen something horrible. She became paranoid and gradually descended into constant fear that someone was trying to kill her.  She refused to drink from an open container and refused to eat from her own plate. While viewing a  shooting scene involving a  murder during the filming of Scarface she became unstable and was taken to her trailer. She left the movie set and returned home. She began to believe that money laundering was involved. Her condition worsened. She demanded to get out of the car while with a male friend. He let her out near Glass Bank in Coco Beach, Florida.  She has not been seen since.

She has spelled her name Tammi and used Tami-Lynn also.

"Unknown: What happened to Mary Shotwell Little" is a story in the Atlanta Journal Constitution on Sunday March 20, 2004. Mary Little disappeared from the Lenox Square area the night of Oct. 14, 1965.  Her car was found parked with blood smeared inside. Police suspected the scene was staged. Gas charge tickets later revealed she had purchased gas in Charlotte and Raleigh the day she had been reported missing. Family validated the signature.

Then in the spring of 1967 Diane Shields disappeared and was found murdered, stuffed into the trunk of her car. Nothing was taken from the body and she had not been assaulted. Her mouth had been stuffed with paper.

The connection was that both women used the same desk in a bank office. Both made strange statements and exhibited strange behavior just before the events happened two years apart. Little told a friend she was afraid of something but could not describe the cause of her fear. She began to fear going out at night. Shields began to miss appointments and disappear for hours with no explanation.

I have spoken with the lead writer at AJC and another mystery writer on-line.  This story is the exception in that there is an abundance of detailed information to suggest that SPVP was the cause of both sets of events. The reporters were not aware of SPVP or the possible connection between the two cases.

 Contact has been made with the cold case unit of the Atlanta Police department. The detective remembered that the Police Department experienced problems when they used the open room with unprotected desks, bull pen,  system. Atlanta PD now  uses Cubicles. There was interest expressed but there are no funds for extensive work on this old case. Only media attention to the case is likely to reach a conclusion. Halloween Disappearance (Unsolved Mysteries)

David Stone began behaving strangely at  a party on October 28, 1988. He started a pointless fight. The next day at nine am he drove away saying he had to sort things out. His car was found abandoned in a remote desert location in New Mexico. There were sightings of him near the car and he refused offered help. The car was eventually towed by the police. Two people said they sighted him walking and chanting, raving about finding the "beast." One of the people stopped and offered him a ride. When he asked Stone what he was doing, Stone replied he was "slaying beast"  It is thought that he had become involved in new age religions and had begun meditation involving crystal energy. The goal of his new religion was to seek enlightenment. One of the people noted he wore only shorts with no coat. That was inappropriate dress for October in the desert.

Speculation is that the desert trip was a vision quest intended to reveal his true identity. The term "the beast" signifies that part of human consciousness which is evil.

His father came to New Mexico and there was a full scale search by Boot Hill Search and Rescue. The search included over flights by aircraft. Strange sand and stone pyramids were found and his gold Rolex watch and money were in the second pyramid. The location is near the Pyramid Mountain range.

A number sequence significant to stock analysis was found  drawn in the sand. But the last two digits were wrong. They should have been the number 21 but were 18 instead. His car was abandoned at mile marker 18 and his high school sports jersey was number 18. (Fibonacci Series ? The Fibonacci string is , 0, 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, 55, 89, 144.  The numbers are the sum of the last two preceding numbers.)

When the car was searched a business card was found and the owner contacted. He said he left the card in a tree to mark the location of a campsite for friends.

Bloodhounds tracked his scent back to highway 80 and the junction of Interstate 10. The belief was that he hitchhiked on the Interstate. But hunters found skeletal remains near Granite Gap New Mexico. They were David's remains.

His family found a cryptic note that ended in the signature "Halloween." He disappeared near Halloween.

(This story is similar to the "West Coast" story below. But there was no mention of an abandoned house, gas charge tickets,  or items of clothing found.)

Scientist Disappearance


During the anthrax scare a bio-scientist drove his car onto a bridge and apparently jumped into the water. None of his associates could explain what might have happened. There is little information from media reports to form any opinion of what happened. Did he commit suicide in a psychotic episode? I know that SPVP can create the delusion that you are being watched or under investigation. (This is our personal family experience.) I can create an imaginary scenario in which he would have psychotically believed he was involved in the anthrax attack and was about to be arrested. This is just wild guessing. Only someone with knowledge of his habits and details of his workplace could provide substantial information. This is one of the stories, which have just the remote hint that it might be SPVP, no proof. When some one else moved into his office and assumed his duties the environment was changed. Any thing, which could have been discovered, is gone.

 

I have located the names and location of this story. Another computer failure has the files corrupted. I will reinvestigate and post new information soon. The victim was attending a conference and planned to stay with his father in that city. He drove a rental car to the bridge, parked in a construction area and walked onto the bridge. Marks on the body indicated he fell rather than jumped. He hit a support on the way down. The problem is there is a missing time period after he left the conference and he was traveling in the wrong direction to have been going to his father's house. There was nothing wrong with the rental car. Police proposed that wind gusts and vibration from trucks driving by caused him to lose his balance and fall. What is the explanation of why he parked and walked onto the bridge?

A woman was found dead in Gulf Shores (?) Alabama after a sudden out of character bus trip. This is a very old story I saw on TV. The reporter said no one who knew her could explain why she made the bus trip or why her destination was Alabama. What I remember is that she walked away from job, home, family. She got on a bus, rode cross-country and stopped in Alabama. I remember there was some dispute over how she died, suicide or murder. Paranoid delusions that you are about to be arrested or that some one is after you could cause a SPVP victim to attempt flight. (We have seen the unreasonable paranoid fear of arrest in our family case.) I would like to know what type of work she did and fill out this story. Again in this case there is not enough information to really form a solid case for SPVP unless more information becomes available. This was one of the first cases, which sparked my interest in sudden disappearances.

 

West Coast


A man abandoned his car then walked into the wilderness in cold weather. Gas charge tickets revealed his meandering purposeless trip to the site where he abandoned his car. Friends and family cannot explain the sudden out of character occurrence. Some clothes were found in a distant abandoned building after an extensive ground search. Because of the cold weather and his known apparel there was little possibility of survival. There was no reason for him to walk into the wilderness. (I remember this story but cannot even recall the decade I saw it.) Can you supply the end or outcome of this story? This too was one of the original cases that interested me, years ago. I was flat on my back after multiple spinal fusion surgeries and had no way to investigate at the time.


Death Valley


In a National Geographic Special aired in the fall of 2002 on PBS, a park ranger recounted a story of a family abandoning their vehicle in Death Valley with the tires slashed. Only shoes strangely arranged on the banks of a shallow ravine were found. Groups would not be involved in SPVP. This is an illustration of a low possibility case for SPVP. In this case the lack of water might explain everything including the slashed tires. (The show may have been titled, "Death Valley" and aired in late summer 2002) Does any one have that video and are you willing to write a transcript? The actual events may have happened a decade ago.

Another explanation for this is that there were no deaths. Remember that no bodies were found. These people were tourists from Germany. If there was a second car and only the adult male drove the van into the desert then set up the bizarre scene, slashing tires, and arranging spare shoes in the ravine, this would explain why no bodies were found. He only had to pack water for the hike out. They might still be here with new identities, lives, and  possibly US Citizenship. Authorities here and in Germany believe they are dead. No one is looking for them. Check out your elderly next door neighbors for a slight German accent.

Four Student Disappearances Fall of 2002

Chris Jenkins, Josh Guimond, Michael Noll and Erika Dahlquist, disappeared within days of each other. Three of the four were students with the similar  high achieving records. Their scholastic records indicate they all spent long periods studying. One spent many hours preparing a moot court presentation. Little connects their stories except that they all suddenly disappeared. One walked away from a card game to go to the bathroom, He never came back. Many of the student disappearances on line involve alcohol use, but not all. Alcohol might disguise the onset of a psychotic break. This group of closely spaced disappearance events suggests there is some common element. The families believe the four are linked. The current belief is that these disappearances are the work of a serial killer. How does the killer pick out high achieving students?  (There have been developments in three of these cases. See Missing Students Under Construction.) May 18, 2004 3:18 AM --ox News -- Erika Dalquist's body was found buried on property belonging to the main suspect in her disappearance.

 

November 20,2006: Cable TV program On the Record With Greta Van Susteren aired a segment about the Chris Jenkins disappearance/death that changed the determination from accident or suicide to homicide. Police gave no indication of what the evidence is. This led to Van Susteren's speculation that a serial killer is at work. They moved to Minneapolis Minnesota then referred to Lacrosse Wisconsin where there have been a total of eight other similar deaths by drowning.   

 

Ylvia Hagner


Ylvia Hagner, forty-two, Swedish, lived in Palo Alto, California. She worked for Ixos Software as a product manager, and has been missing since 1996. Her car was found abandoned on the street. I included this case because she worked for a California company. There are movements to abandon the cubicle and start a system of ‘open workspace.’ As long as stathis is done using an engineer designer with the proper training in office design there will be no problems. I suspect that this is not always the case. (That is, again, our family experience. A University in-house construction department built new workspace without peripheral vision blocking panels.) This story seemed to fit that general milieu. There is a web site. If you knew Ylvia Hagner and can supply details of her habits this site will list them. Look at her site. If she is a victim of SPVP and is a Dissociative Fugue survivor maybe you know her. This case is also on the Missing Students page.
 


Minister Recovers and Returns


A minister walked away and was discovered years later with no memory of how he changed identities. Suspicion reported on the news web site is that he wanted to disappear because of his gay life style. That alone would not mean SPVP was not involved. Only the minister knows the truth. If his disappearance was deliberate, planned, then SPVP is not involved. Sitting for hours reading, researching, and writing sermons might fit the SPVP profile. If he does not have memory of why he disappeared then SPVP could be involved.

If the minister was not homosexual before the disappearance the case would hold a small hint of the cause of adult onset homosexuality. Operant conditioning can do almost anything with the human mind. It usually does not work well with humans because we have knowledge of self and our surroundings. The fact that this phenomenon uses peripheral vision as a channel to the subconscious opens a list of possible connections.

 

 

 Laci Peterson

  This ongoing story does not contain reporting on information which could be used to confirm a possibility of SPVP. There is just nothing to go on.  All the other cases used to argue and illustrate the phenomenon are in the past.  This case illustrates the difficulty in researching something which is unknown by every one on scene of a possibly involved case.

 In our family case,  Personal Experiences, the psychotic mental breakdown happened in a university business office. No one in the office was aware a psychotic break was happening.( I believe they did know there was a problem and this will be posted at a later date.)  Supervisors were stunned to learn of my wife’s paranoid psychotic delusions going on under their noses. This can happen in any situation if the victim is able to deal with the onset of psychosis. In our case the delusion closely followed what actually happened in the office. It is possible that someone in an altered mental state at the onset of SPVP can be the victim of crime. A psychotic paranoid delusion could precipitate an argument and have the death occur as result.  The discovery of the body does not eliminate SPVP involvement.

What were Laci's activities in the  two weeks or so before she initially disappeared? Was she working daily or was she staying home? Did she use the computer or have other risk activity? Her ISP billing could supply information on Internet use. If she worked on a long project the file would be on her hard drive.

Current reporting is that on the morning she disappeared there were changes in habit. A window was not opened. This is being viewed as evidence she was murdered the night before. Look at the case of Janet March above. There was contradictory information in the planning and execution of a birthday party planned for Janet March’s son. Odd things happened at the point of disappearance in these cases.

In our case my wife has daily psychotic delusions that a family member has been injured in a serious accident. When staying with her mother she had to be physically restrained from going to the scene of her delusional accident. I must call as many as three times each day to assure her I am at home and not seriously injured and in the hospital. The point is that this phenomenon produces very strange and unusual effects. My wife did her full job including writing reports the last day she worked.  She was an accounting assistant and had to balance her accounting work to the penny. She came out to the car after work and said cameras had been installed to watch her.

As of this writing, June 2006, there are still sites on-line that have extensive collections of evidence and personal pictures. None of them show a computer. News accounts say that police removed two computers on the first day of their search. There were four computers mentioned in news accounts. One source suggested to me that there was only a laptop before Scott Peterson moved his office back into the home.

The purpose of the list of examples is to advance the suggestion that SPVP might, repeat MIGHT, be involved in similar cases. It is not possible to read an account of a murder or sudden disappearance and establish the facts from hundreds of miles away. If you know the pattern involved, each of the stories fits enough points on the curve to suspect they are involved. Except for the Ron Tammen case there is not enough information to establish where the points of similarity are.

The rare occurrence of the injury establishes that is difficult to create enough exposure to cause an injury. But when it does happen the consequences are serious, possibly fatal.

 Our personal experience was intermittent human traffic during eight-hour workdays for thirty calendar days.

If you have a tower CPU mount it under your desk. That's the way they position it in a cubicle. The hard drive busy light is about the height of your low peripheral vision if you put the tower on the desk. Desktop reading of text or writing notes beside the keyboard on the side of the monitor away from the tower makes the blinking hard drive busy light appear to approach from behind when you turn to view the screen again.

If you have a computer work station/desk in which you turn ninety degrees to write or do other non computer work, turn off the monitor when you turn aside. Remove screen savers in this instance. The movement, animation for example, in your screensaver, two-dimensional movement, might well be detected by your peripheral vision at close range. Alternately cover the monitor screen.

All home, apartment, or dorm computer workstations are in unprotected workspace. To change that put the computer in a quiet room with no possible movement. If that is not possible in a dorm or apartment position the computer so that your peripheral vision can see only stationary walls as you use the computer in a busy room. In Cubicles and 'Systems Furniture' these protective features are achieved with peripheral vision blocking panels and corner seating positions. It is called 'Cubicle Level Protection.'

If you use computer or CD-ROM games for many hours day after day, the game playing position should follow the same rules as the computer workstation. Battery operated games will not run long enough on a single rechargeable battery to cause a risk for SPVP.

Although a laptop does not have a visible blinking light in peripheral vision the same rules apply to your work position.  There should not be human traffic moving to you from behind. There should be nothing behind you, which could enter your subliminal peripheral vision field as you turn your head while working at the laptop and be mistaken for threat movement.

Only movement coming from behind you into your Subliminal Peripheral Vision can cause a peripheral vision reflex. If the movement source approaches you from ahead then enters your Subliminal Peripheral Vision from conscious sight there can be no peripheral vision reflex.

 

Repeated for Emphasis:

A single session or rare sessions will not cause this problem.

It is the same day after day long hours of play or computer use with detectable movement in ‘Subliminal Peripheral Vision,’ which would form the basis of a risk for SPVP injury.

Exposure can be cumulative 

The brain’s detection system only evaluates movement. There is little recognition of the nature of the object in peripheral vision. If you have several hours exposure from human traffic at the library, while reading at an open table or seated in a reading room chair, followed by long hours watching TV with a critically misplaced ceiling fan sweeping detectable shadows around the room, the combination of those two behaviors might cause the problem. The suggestion is that either activity alone would not consume enough exposure time even if the critical movement is present.
