Preventing Subliminal Distraction episodes, mistaken for mental illness, is simple and free.

In 2011, Pikangikum, a First Nation enclave located 300 km northeast of Winnipeg, had a suicide rate equivalent to 250 per 100,000. That's 20 times the suicide rate for Canada. It's also the highest in the world. The community of 2,400 has experienced a rate that high for 20 years.

Other tribe enclaves such as the Nishnawbe Aski Nation have also experienced cluster suicides.

The disturbing suicides of 12 teen students was recently reported in Canadian media.

Both too-small, and single-room living arrangements promote the "special circumstances" for visual subliminal distraction.

Low incomes, and the cost of heating large homes prevents northern

Canadian indigenous people using modern dedicated room housing.

School children of all ages using classrooms, teens using social media,

and those who play video games are the most likely to be suicide victims.

Suicides in remote First Nation Enclaves

are never investigated for preventable visual subliminal distraction.

Arising from normal features of everyone's physiology of sight,

visual subliminal distraction was discovered to cause

still-believed-harmless mental breaks for office workers in 1964.

What is Subliminal Distraction?     begin here.

Unlike the unproven theories of mental illness, the "special circumstances"

for visual subliminal distraction, discovered as a "mental break causing design mistake"

can be experimentally replicated to show that the first outcome is anxiety followed by depressive ideation.

When the usually nonsense hallucinations of the 'office worker' mental break are shaped

by months of long Subliminal Distraction sessions, they are influenced by depressive ideation

to beliefs of unsolvable, unbearable outcomes for real or delusional situations,

a suicide can happen during the panic-like attack of the episode.

Begin by performing my demonstration of the habituation of conscious sight

in peripheral vision ------   Demo

You will witness movement vanish while you observe it in peripheral vision.

That feature of our physiology of sight allows Subliminal Distraction to happen

below thought, reason, and consciousness.  It is undetectable.

If the movement does not vanish, you cannot suppress the vision startle reflex,

necessary to create Subliminal Distraction.

Until you can do that you are immune from the problem.

Have someone else perform the demonstration to verify what happens.

Although there is a multi billion dollar industry to prevent the 'office worker' mental break,

using cubicles, and Systems Furniture in open plan offices,

the public, mental health services, and research are unaware this problem exists.

So little is thought of it that there are no studies, or papers about Subliminal Distraction.

Those few aware of it do not understand there is no magic so that desks,

chairs, and filing cabinets are necessary to cause the psychotic-like episode.

When engineers were told it was caused by the long-term conscious forced suppression

of the vision startle reflex, they created the cubicle to block peripheral vision

for concentrating knowledge workers stopping the episodes by 1968.

Today computers, and digital view-screen devices require the same concentration office workers use.

That allows the 'design mistake' to migrate, be made, in homes, dorm rooms, and student apartments.

If you accidentally create enough exposure to have the mental event,

unaware this problem exists, mental health experts will diagnose a mental disorder.

A Subliminal Distraction event will spontaneously remit with appropriate rest from exposure

without treatment, or after effects.

If you have an exposure activity sufficient to cause psychiatric symptoms,

but widely spaced so the symptoms remit before the next exposure session,

it would be diagnosed as bipolar disorder.

When it happened to my wife after her office was changed

eliminating Cubicle Level Protection, her episode was mistaken for schizophrenia.

The small houses of northern First Nation families crowd subjects close together

while they perform normal activities requiring full mental investment.

That allows Subliminal Distraction when there is repeating detectable movement nearby in peripheral vision.

Threat-movement to cause an undetectable subliminal failed attempt to startle can be

family, pets, large mirrors, or blinking lights on a computer swept through peripheral vision with a head turn.

Movement in peripheral vision to cause a failed attempt to startle need not be human, or alive.

While computers and other digital view-screen devices are featured on this site as a source of mental investment,

the problem was discovered, and solved before they existed.

Reading a book, writing homework assignments, texting on a phone, or tablet,

all engage a level of concentration, mental investment, sufficient to allow visual subliminal distraction.

Single exposure incidents are normal for everyone, and harmless.

Hours of exposure daily for successive days are necessary to cause psychiatric symptoms.
