Martin walked away from Boone, N.C. while enrolled at Caldwell Community College

after a chance, on the street,  meeting with his cousin near the Appalachian State College Convocation Center.

The Disappeared TV show aired details not in on line accounts.

The details of where he studied and used the computer while taking

on-line courses will establish if he created Subliminal Distraction.

Was there a mirror or other source of movement in peripheral vision there.

Some of that information is still available from fraternity brothers, and roommates.

The current effort to find him is one family soliciting help with Facebook.

If it can be established his disappearance is a visual subliminal distraction case,

then released in social media, millions of eyes will look for him

because this case provides the solution for other cases

of sudden unexplained student disappearances.

His difficulty with academics while having no trouble working in a restaurant,

 taking computer courses rather than classroom courses,

the details of his note left behind revealing his mental state,

all point to a Subliminal Distraction event causing this disappearance.

His note can be interpreted to say he was leaving to start a new life.

It said he regretted not taking advantage of opportunities.

In contrast when he he spoke with his cousin just before he walked away,

he was excited about the upcoming semester.

                         when it caused mental breaks for office workers fifty years ago.

Subliminal Distraction happens when someone creates

a study or computer workstation with repeating detectable movement near by in peripheral vision,

then spends long hours with repeating failed attempts to visually startle.

The demonstration of the habituation of conscious sight in peripheral vision

shows why it cannot  be consciously experienced as it happens.

 Typical sources of distracting movement could come from

people, pets, mirror reflections, fans,

or blinking lights on the computer swept through peripheral vision

with head turn.

Two screen video game playing situations can cause the problem

if one screen supplies distracting movement while the player attends the other game screen.

There have been recoveries when missing students encountered law enforcement.
